Stand up paddlesurfing is one of the fastest growing watersport in the World. The origins of the sport are lost in antiquity - the ancient Hawaains both paddled canoes and surfed, and are very likely to have combined the two sports.

In more recent times, Waikiki beach boys engaged in the sport during the heyday of the Waikiki surfing scene - it was called beach boy surfing in those days.
