Cathedral of Canyoning

Canyoning is travelling in canyons, using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities lile walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling and swimming. 

The canyoning adventure of Las Buitreras (vultures' nests), near Cortés de la Frontera, inland Andalucia, is known as one of the nicest places in Europe to enjoy a canyoning adventure. Located in the "Parque de los Alcornocales", the canyon offers very specific geology features. During thousands of years, waters have been creating whimsical and sinuous shapes in the rocks, forming an impressive landscape with vertical walls of more than 100 meters high. As you will go along, the river will get narrower and you will easilly understand why the canyon “de las Buitreras” near Grazalema is also called the cathedral of the canyons of Andalucía. The canyon offers several jumps of 3m to 8m high, but these are optional and can be done as abseils should you prefer.
